OUR TRAINING

As graduates of the Kresser Institute’s ADAPT Health Coach Training Program, we have met all requirements for certification, which include conducting 25 coaching sessions with clients and passing final assessments. The ADAPT Health Coach Training Program is a National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching approved training program.

ADAPT Certified Functional Health Coaches can help you make lasting, healthy changes to your lifestyle. We do this by focusing on some key areas of health and wellbeing, including:

  1. Social connection

  2. Stress management

  3. Sleep

  4. Food

  5. Movement

According to the CDC, six out of every 10 people in the US alone suffer a chronic condition, and four in 10 have multiple chronic diseases. In 2018, the World Health Organization reported that chronic disease makes up 71% of all deaths each year. We believe that health coaching for habit change and self-care fulfills a need, not a luxury.

Our health coaches do not diagnose or treat illnesses, and do not provide mental health counseling. Our coaching assumes that you take full responsibility for your own wellbeing. Any information provided in this program is for general education only and is not intended to substitute for the advice, treatment and/or diagnosis of a licensed professional.

Why Functional Health Coach

The Institute for Functional Medicine says that, “functional medicine determines how and why illness occurs and restores health by addressing the root causes of disease for each individual.” Functionally trained practitioners focus on what you put into your body and how you use your body as core aspects of your treatment. Functionally trained health coaches focus on health habits and wellness.

We are trained to help people change their lifestyle to better meet their bodies’ needs while functioning in our digital, fast-paced world. The way we work and live has changed in the past century, but our bodies' needs have not. That is why we focus on food, movement, sleep, stress management, and social connection.

We are also trained in our scope of practice. Meaning, that we know how to identify when you might need medical or mental health assistance beyond our expertise and we are trained to help you seek out that kind of support, as needed.
